Key Responsibilities:
1. Design and engineer solar PV systems for commercial, industrial, and utility-scale projects.
2. Conduct site assessments to evaluate project feasibility, including shading analysis, site layout, and system sizing.
3. Visiting sites for survey, preparation of layouts, documents, bill of quantities for proposal purpose and optimizing the designs.
4. Develop detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations for solar PV installations, including electrical single-line diagrams, mounting details, and equipment specifications.
5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including project managers, electrical engineers, and construction professionals to ensure project requirements are met.
6. Utilize industry software and tools for solar design and modeling, such as PVsyst, Helioscope, AutoCAD, and PVSOL.
7. Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to solar energy design and engineering.
8. Provide technical support during the construction and commissioning phases of projects, including resolving design-related issues and optimizing system performance.
9. Conduct performance analysis and optimization of existing solar installations, identifying opportunities for improvements and upgrades.
10. Assist with proposal development, including system design, cost estimation, and technical documentation.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, renewable energy, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
2. Minimum of X years of experience in solar energy system design and engineering, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
3. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and PV design tools (e.g., PVsyst, Helioscope), Sketch up
4. Strong understanding of solar photovoltaic technology, system components, and installation practices.
5. Familiarity with relevant codes and standards, such as NEC, UL, and IEC, governing solar PV installations.
6. Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to perform complex engineering calculations and simulations.
7. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information to diverse stakeholders.
8. Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
9. Professional engineering license (PE) or eligibility for licensure preferred.
