Responsibilities:
1. Recruitment and Staffing:
a. Coordinate the recruitment process for faculty and staff positions, including job postings, applicant screening, interview scheduling, and selection.
b. Assist hiring managers in developing job descriptions, evaluating candidates, and making hiring decisions.
c. Manage onboarding processes for new hires, including orientation sessions and completion of required paperwork.
2. Employee Relations:
a. Serve as a resource for employees regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefits programs.
b. Address employee inquiries, concerns, and grievances in a timely and confidential manner, facilitating resolution and maintaining positive employee relations.
c. Conduct investigations into employee complaints or disciplinary matters as needed, in collaboration with appropriate stakeholders.
3. Performance Management:
a. Support the performance appraisal process by providing guidance to supervisors and employees, facilitating goal-setting, and documenting performance feedback.
b. Assist in the implementation of performance improvement plans and professional development initiatives to support employee growth and career advancement.
4. Benefits Administration:
a. Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies.
b. Assist employees with benefits enrollment, changes, and inquiries, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
5. Compliance and Policy Administration:
a. Stay current with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, ensuring compliance in all HR practices and procedures.
b. Maintain accurate HR records and documentation, including personnel files, HRIS data, and employment-related forms.
c. Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and initiatives to support organizational goals and objectives.
6. HR Projects and Initiatives:
a. Participate in HR projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing organizational effectiveness, employee engagement, and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
b. Collaborate with HR team members and campus stakeholders to develop and implement best practices in HR management.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related field.
· Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in higher education or a similar academic environment.
· Knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and best practices.
· Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS software.
· HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) preferred but not required.
